New Year's Resolutions 2011 Edition

not_hathorWell, here we are again. 2010 is over; it wasn't as nasty and stressful for the immediate household as some, although two siblings remain unemployed and the step-daughter & her husband were technically homeless for much of the summer (or as she put it, 'good thing we love camping so much', and the local conservation club was so accommodating). Also, I worry about my dad and my mom; both elderly, and dad especially in frail condition. We added a part-Chow, part something else (speculation ranges from black Lab to German Shepherd to Husky -- in combination) the family; and although Buck Hakkai took that final journey to the West, Adric has proved a worthy replacement deserving of the gold star for Mathematics (translation: better gas mileage). I spent enjoyable weekends at a local Anime convention, and at Chicago TARDIS Con with neadods, gardened, and knit many a useful item for friends, family and the homeless Teen Shelter.
Resolution Time: In 2011 I Shall Do my Best to
1. Be more proactive about automotive maintenance, and stay at least one month ahead in my Auto Loan payments,
2. Lose weight (notice I didn't specify how much!) by careful diet planning and increased exercise;
3. Stay in better touch with my parents and siblings via visits and e-mails (at least once a month, weather permitting);
4. Stay in better touch with my Live Journal friends by posting at least once a week no matter HOW hectic things are (I notice that I didn't post ONCE during December, although I did comment fairly often);
5. Learn to knit in the round with both circular needles and DPs, including the cable stitch;
6. Write fan fiction. Preferably my un-finished YGO 'Weight of a Feather' series, and the RGB/The Shadow story that finally got started during 2008 NaNoWriMo. It might also be nice to finish the Brokeback-Narnia story from back in the day.... consider a fiction journal;
7. Resist the FACEBOOK.......
