Well, the Daughter Got Her Wish!

...she was hoping for a 'snow' day since the weather mavens have been predicting it since Sunday afternoon, although technically it's been more of a ice-sleet day from what I see. So school was canceled (normally it takes a mega-blizzard, but I can see it -- there are a LOT of hills with potentially slippery streets in this burg!) and we all got to sleep in a bit. Husband called me from the house; he slept fairly well and was having breakfast. Add to the list of 'Special Heaven' inhabitants: Joe and Elanor, for coming through with the walker we needed to 'spring' my hubby from the hospital yesterday. Hopefully we won't need it all that long; the PT lady and Dr. Collins were both very optimistic about his progress.
I'm going into work today even though Pastor Joyce told me not to bother if it DID turn into a 'snow' day -- got too much to do, beside putting in my formal 'vacation' request for the rest of this week and part of next. Husband is doing well, but it's lonely at the house (even tho' the DVDs and mangas were transported down a week ago, they're stored where he can't get to them easily, even with crutches. So I figure I can keep him company and work on arranging what we DO have already moved, and bring down more bits and pieces when I come. The heavy stuff will have to wait a while, even tho' we appear to have several teams of willing movers champing at the bit, so to speak.
Sounds like the dryer is done, so I can finish getting dressed and get it in gear.
Later, all!
(oh, and KY? believe me, we KNOW that heat tape is our friend -- except when it burns out, or we get caught off guard, or it freezes in the ground....)
