Woo-Hoo!

Originally I'd negotiated an hour for lunch last year so that I could run home and make sure Orion wasn't keeling over from heat stroke during the summer (and haul him into the shower and hose him down if he was over-heating), and to keep him company and shove pills down his throat the last couple few months.... With him gone, I did think about cutting back to a half-hour but today I'm kinda glad I didn't, because it gave me enough time to run over to the nearest Best Buy and grab me 'Narnia' and 'Brokeback' over lunch. YES! Who's da bomb?!!

No 'Loveless' #2, or 'Burst Angel' #6, tho' -- Daughter has been nagging for BA for the past two weeks, and I thought since I saved so much money on "NEW RELEASE TUESDAY" at Best Buy today, I'd indulge her.... oh well, there's a BB on the other side of the river; Husband and I are headed that way tomorrow evening, gonna see if B&N has 'Cantarella' #1. If not, there's always Iowa City next weekend.

Proof I've been reading waay too much BBM fic and Narnia-fic: I keep getting this mental image of Jack waiting in Aslan's Country (which looks suspiciously like Wyoming), Aslan's keeping him company, and I have a feeling they're talking about Ennis.....

(*Hides* .... don't lynch me....)

Is there a good place to buy manga in downtown Iowa City? I know there's the comic shop in the ped mall, but I haven't been there in at least a year. When I'm here, I usually grab a ride from a friend and go to either the Sycamore or Coral Ridge mall.

If you mean the one that's in that downtown area with all the pubs and shops and bookstores, etc, that's the only one I actually know -- dropped nearly $200 for manga there last December(back issues mostly)! Unfortunately, that trip was cut short because of blizzard, so we never got to check out any of the other stores on the print out (did a Bookstore search beforehand). Never even got to Prairie Lights....*pout* They had a lot of manga then, at least two weeks ahead of the Q-C mall bookstores.

Yep, that's the one. Lots of manga then, you say? I'll have to drop in on 'em more often. XD

Prairie Lights has lots of pretty books, except I keep dropping a bunch of money on 'em for schoolbooks, so I've never actually gone in just browsing. :P

Got any reccies for decently priced lunches? Turns out we're headed that way THIS Saturday, not next week like I thought, and my past experience with eateries in the IA City area has beem limited to fast food joints near the ICON hotel in Coralville.
