The Sky is Crying

We lost another of the good ones over the weekend. I *DO* like my work here at the church, but this is why I stopped going down to lunch with the Quilt Ladies on Tuesdays -- I get too attached, and then it hurts like crazy when they pass away. It's an elderly congregation, so it's inevitable; and this year hasn't been as bad as some years (we can joke about it now, but 2005 was a dangerous year to be named 'James')--- but oh, I'm going to miss Bessie!!!

My sympathy.
Sounds like the church my 91-year-old Aunt belonged to, all retired and elderly folks, and getting smaller every year. All very sweet people, sadly missed.

Amen. No disrespect to my mom and Grandma, but every time it feels like I'm losing another grandmother....

I'm so sorry.

Thank you (sniffles a little)... Bessie was one of the Quilt Ladies until her arthritis got too bad, but she'd still come to church when she could and I'd see her name in the pew registry when she did, and she'd call at least once a month to chat with the QLs and since I answer the phone, I'd get to talk to her for a few minutes before transferring the call downstairs... She was always so upbeat, a joy to talk to....
