It rained/is raining. The garden slugs are ruining my tomatoes. I think I'm coming down with a cold or something.....

Wednesday's breakfast was eaten at the M---- Family Restaurant(I'd had supper there once years back and was unimpressed by their 'home-style' spaghetti dinner). I was intrigued yesterday morning by the Corned Beef Omelet...which was all right, but could have been improved by the addition of an extra ingredient or two such as onion, sauerkraut, or maybe a sweet & spicy mustard sauce. To be fair, the waitress *did* offer hot sauce, and there *was* ketchup on the table.... I have to give the experience a 3 out of 5....

---*Hot sauce* at BREAKFAST????? shudders --

This morning I visited "Doggie Styles", a small roadside eatery which specializes in carry-out fare such as it's signature HOT DOGS, Gyro sandwiches, burgers, fries, onion rings, etc., but there is also a tiny inside sit-down dining area, and they do serve breakfast.... I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy. It was good, and filling.... but I'd overestimated my appetite and as mentioned above, I think I'm coming down with something, and started feeling queasy. I left half my breakfast on the table, along with a nice tip; mentioned to the waiter that it was tasty, but more filling than I'd anticipated, came home and made myself a cup of tea. Rating: a provisional 3.5 out of 5 (half a point for having real ceramic coffee cups, but only powdered non-dairy creamer).

Tomorrow, provided I'm feeling better, I'll either go to the Scamper-In (another roadside eatery) or the new Welcome-in (which has been 'opening soon' for the past two weeks).... Or I might just break my self-imposed rule of IN TOWN, NON-FAST FOOD and hit either McD's or HarD's or go across the river to Village Inn or Denny's....

Currently trying to psyche myself up to make the zucchini bread -- I have to shred the zucchini, you see. This has been "Weiss Kreuz:Knight Hunters" week; Husband called it 'an Assassination Soap Opera' last night after the whole 'Omi-Ouka-Rejii-Shuichi-Takatori' connection was revealed.

TAKATORI!!!!!! MIND_CRUSH!!!!!!! (oops, wrong anime... wrong VA, too; 'Gluehn' is next week. Maybe....)

Maybe this afternoon I'll take a bunch of books to the Paperback Exchange -- I've decided that really the only Charlaine Harris books I want to keep are the 'Harper Connollys' and there are a few other odd ones that I picked up earlier in the year, finally read and was less than enchanted.

A friend of ours burned a bootleg copy of TW:CoE and gave it to us last week.... didn't have the heart to tell him we'd probably never watch it.....
