It's All Relative

I have three sisters. One older, two younger. I love all three of them, even though over the years I've discovered that: a)I get along best with my older sib because we have similar interests; b)I don't really know my YoungEST Sister because she grew up while I was at college and then I got married and moved away; and c) my YoungER Sister is best taken in small and infrequent doses, because she's an abrasive personality.
I suppose that's why I feel so bad in finding out that the other weekend while Husband, Daughter and I were fretting over Orion's mega-seizure, my YoungER sister was in the Emergency Room of a Toledo, OH hospital being treated for off the meter blood sugar and Keotone levels.....
My SISTER almost died.... and I was worried about a dog....

Date: 2006-02-22 04:42 am (UTC)According to our Mom, she'll be taking insulin shots the rest of her life and have to make some major lifestyle changes -- wake-up call for the rest of us, I guess.
Orion is doing as well as can be expected; the vet upped his daily pheno dosage and that seems to be helping the seizures. Unfortunately, not much can be done about the liver tumors. We'll just have to love him extra good.
Thanks for caring. I hope to post a bit more positively soon.... maybe some fic snippits.
