Where was I? Oh yeah....

Tuesday: hadn't slept too well, the Chows were fractious and rowdy all night, riled up by the goings-on of Monday; plus I was anxious about the ER co-payment check maybe being 'rubber', depending on if Teh Shiney payment due on the 2nd (mailed the previous Wednesday)had cleared the bank yet -- if not, it was good. You see, at the end of 2010, the Finance Committee had decided that all church employees should be paid on the 1st and 15th of the month, because somehow paying me weekly had resulted in my recieving 53 paychecks ??!!?? in 2010, and it was confusing for the Treasurer -- oh, and because the budget tanked, I didn't get even a COL raise for 2011... Anyway. I went in to work early, partially to make up for all the Out of Office time on Monday, and partially hoping that my paycheck might be waiting on my desk, it being Feb. 1st. Hurrah, there it was! and because it was still early-time, I was able to dash it quick down to the bank, WHEW!!!!

I had two major work goals for Tuesday: collate and mail the church newsletter, and finish collating the Annual Report to the Congregation for distribution during the Congregational meeting on the 6th. Oh, and the Sunday Worship Bulletin. My priority was the newsletter, due to the time-sensitive articles re: the Congregational meeting and the 'Souper Bowl of Caring' offering. Ended up spending most of the morning working on 'last-minute changes' for the ARC and reprinting those pages, though I DID get most of the newsletters collate... and at least seven phone calls from various members of the Session warning me about the OnComing Storm and that I could go home early if it got "bad".

It was a little iffy when I went home for lunch, but managable (Have I mentioned that ADRIC gets the 'Gold Star' for Reliability yet? I <3 my little Malibu boy); and I caught the Heating Oil delivery guy who showed up at the house just as I was leaving, so I was able to get THAT taken care of, and Furnace Tank had a nice full tummy for the weather to come. Came back up to the church, and got back to work, and around 2:30pm I looked out the window and OMG SNOWMAGGEDON!!!!! So I bundled up the rest of the newsletters and those $@#*&!!! sealer dots that the Post Office wants us to start using and Pastor thinks look more 'professional' but are expensive and don't stick worth shht (cellotape is cheaper, faster and holds waaaay better, but what do I know? I'm just the secretary with ten years experince in this matter....), locked up the church and headed home -- where I watched the SHERLOCK pilot movie, and made egg-drop soup for supper to go with the left-over Chinese from the weekend.

Other than the occasional concern about the power going out, it was a pleasant evening. I had permission from Pastor to take a 'Snow Day' if necessary on Wednesday, and told Husband he should seriously consider doing the same since it's at least a 20 minute/15 mile drive across the Interstate Bridge for him to get to work under the best conditions.

Wednesday: SNOW DAY!!!! We managed to dig out the cars by 1:30pm (gotta love the Snow-blower!); Husband stayed home, and I came up to work for a few hours, but still fell short of my goal (newsletter, DAMMITT, has to go out Thursday am at the ABSOLUTE latest !!! ElevenEleven!!!)
