I remember reading about that years ago, in reference to why the Greenland settlements were pretty much abandoned by the Vikings back in the 1300's(?). And that we were due for another one in the near future. --- article in "Tournaments Illuminated", of all places (SCA publication, circa 1980-something).
Hey, if I find that frizzled hard drive from awhile back, is that data recovery offer still open?
hey!! idk if you remember me, but i was just reminiscing about when i joined fandom, and i wanted to see if you were still around? i'm pretty sure i met you on FFN around 2003 or 2004, and i ended up as imagines @ LJ. then i dropped out of fandom for about five years, but i came back in 2017 and have been looking around for old friends. :) anyway, if you do remember me, i'd love to catch up!! (i think you were the one who sent me a scarf and shawl, but it was so long ago i can't be certain...)
So nice to hear from you, Kit! I've thought about you from time to time.... Are you still in Michigan, or back in KC? Or somewhere entirely different? I thought of you a year or so ago when I discovered the "Yuri! On Ice!" anime, and wondered if you were still skating. Do you still fire-juggle?
I still knit quite a bit -- yes, the scarf and shawl were from me; I'm very active in the Prayer Shawl ministry at the church I still work for (18 years, now); and I had 3 hats, 2 pairs of mittens, and 2 pairs of socks on the Grade Schoolers' Giving Tree this year (the socks were tricky, because I had trouble finding children's sock patterns).
Goodness, this is really turning into 'Re-Connect with Long- Lost Friends' week -- Many Hugs!!!!!
