not_hathorHave I mentioned lately how much I REALLY appreciate being in a nice snug warm house this winter? Remind me to thank the Father-in-Law again, next time we see him!
One of my f-list friends was asking why I dislike January and February so much.... well, it's because there are so many unhappy anniversaries associated with the last half of January and most of February:
January 28, 1986 - Space Shuttle Challenger exploded shortly after take-off. I was at work at the radio station when it happened. One of my co-worker was related to Judy Resnick. The entire Radio/Televsion office was in shock.
February 18, 1987 - our first Chow, Kahvi died unexpectedly during what should have been a routine abcessed tooth extraction. Our vet did an autopsy and discovered she had advanced bone cancer along that portion of her jaw.
January 24, 2003 - Our second Chow, Chani -- just a few weeks short of her 16th birthday, liver cancer.
February 1, 2003 - Space Shuttle Columbia broke up on re-entry.
February 25, 2006 - Our third Chow, Orion, liver cancer.
January 22, 2008 - Heath Ledger, accidental toxic overdose of prescription medications.
February 14, 2008 - Shootings at NIU
Some of these may seem like a bit of a stretch, but believe me, ALL of them hit me very hard emotionally....
And now, I have to go pick up the Daughter at school, because she's in a lot of pain.... kidney stone, according to the ER doctor last Sunday, and she's already had her morning megadose of IBprophen, and the school won't let her have the vicoden while on the premises....
