For years my job involved writing to a word count on a very strict deadline. Possibly because of this, I’ve never quite gotten the appeal of NaNoWriMo, it’s always felt too much like work. Which is my roundabout way of agreeing with you – when your hobby for the month feels like work, and knitting feels like more fun, it’s time to knit.
