Such a grey and gloomy Sunday morning...And yet so much to look forward to!
Our friend Bruce came thru his Protruded Disc and fusion surgery with flying colors; surgery was Friday morning, we visited him at the hospital Friday evening and he reported already 99 percent improvement! Yes, he is on some pain medication and has to wear a neck brace for several weeks, can't lift anything heavier than a paper bag at the moment, but he is home and comfortable and more than a little sheepish about how gloom and doom he'd been about the whole thing a few weeks ago!
Yesterday was my mom's Birthday, so the church flowers this morning were for her! Alas, I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the flowers I dedicated for Heath two weeks ago, but I don't think Mom would mind sharing.... she'd tracked a branch of her Dad's family to Australia, so who knows? Mayhap the Heathster was a distant cousin! That's what I told the two people who asked who 'Hal Kimson' was to me, anyway -- distant cousin.
Speaking of flowers, I am now in possession of an Easter lily, two Hyacinths and two peony plants waiting for the ground to dry up enough for planting. On order from Burgess Seed & Plant Co. are live lavender plants, an assortment of herb seeds and two Flowering Cherry trees, hopefully to be delivered withing the next two weeks. It may sound strange, but the only real regret I have at moving out of the Mobile Home was that I couldn't take my Lilacs, rose bush and Sage bush with us!
On the very Plus side, we have room for a small vegetable garden. Anyone who has recommendations for a beginning gardener is more than welcome to comment. I will mention upfront that I won't be planting corn: there isn't room to plant enough to be practical; plus, of course, the whole 'being allergic to corn' thing -ugh!
Sounds like the washer has spun out; time to transfer laundry to the dryer. Another plus -- the Trailer Park didn't allow clothes lines, so that's something we'll also have to see about setting up some time soon.
Later, 'gators!
