DIsappointed in Disney - No Love Rant

You all remember how excited I was back in November about Disney FINALLY releasing 'Dr. Syn, Alias the Scarecrow' (aka 'The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh') on DVD? Well, I went to the local Best Buy over lunch on the release date, only to find empty racks with Title and Sales Price attached where it should have been. The floor assistant couldn't tell me when they might get more in, but suggested I check back at the end of the week. Got the same story at the BB across the river.... so for past couple weeks, I've been haunting the Best Buys, the Borders and Barnes and Nobles stores, WAL-Mart -- any place I could think of that might have carried it...

Turns out it was a LIMITED EDITION, and has ALREADY BEEN DISCONTINUED BY DISNEY not even a month later....I can't find it ANYWHERE!!!!!



DISNEY, I HATE YOU!!!!!!!!!! DO you have ANY idea how long I've wanted that Movie, how long I've LOVED it.... SINCE 1963 when I first saw it on my parent's black-and-white TV set three Sunday Nights in a ROW..... I HATE you for getting my middle aged middle class hopes up, then yanking the prize away..... "LIMITED EDITIONS"......

It's gone ALREADY?!?!?!? That's just not fair. It's right in the middle of my "I can't buy any DVD I want because my friends will kill me if I buy something they already bought me for Christmas" period. So I hadn't gone out looking for it. Now I shall have to go rant and rave! Waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!

That was the absolute BEST of the Wonderful World of Disney movies!

Hallo, Jayne, long time no see..... How have things been going for you lately?

I do apologize for the bad language, I was so frustrated and disappointed last night.

I've not had very good luck with either Amazon or Ebay but I may have to give it a try again. I really wanted to get "Dr Syn" for my husband for Christmas!!!

Well, crud. I'd love to have that movie on dvd! I always loved it and even had the novelization from the Scholastic book club thing when I was a kid.
