You're packing your bag for that other desert island—the one with no electricity—what 5 books do you take with you?
1. The Riverside Shakespeare (honking HUGE volume that includes every play written or thought to be written by the Bard of Avon)
2. The complete annotated Sherlock Holmes (preferably the one w/the illustrations from The Strand Magazine)
3. The (illustrated by Kaja Foglio) Chronicles of Master Li and Number Ten Ox - Barry Hughart
4. "The Borders of Infinity" by Lois McMasters Bujold (actually, any of the Vorkosigan Saga trade paperback editions, which tend to include two or more of the novels; my preference would be 'Borders' or 'A Civil Campaign')
5. A 3-in-1 edition of "The Lord of the Rings"
(alternate picks: The Bible (King James Version), and The Chronicles of Narnia)
