Our interim Pastor got home safely from his Florida cruise in time for Boy Scout Sunday, which was good, because with all the recent problems with cruise liners and the coronovirus it was a little iffy... but all's well that ends well, etc. (of course, now the Boy Scouts have filed for bankruptcy -- coincidence?)

Back in December the Husband was making noises about putting up book cases in the computer room so we'd have more room to put the MANGA (and all the books that have been sitting in boxes for the past 10+ years).... well, the book cases aren't up yet, but I spent much of the past weekend moving things around and out into other rooms, and OMG!  I KEEP FINDING YARN!!!! And fabric!!!! and misplaced clothing (but not the Mackinac Island sweatshirt -- yet; there's still hope).... And maybe the Bookcases will be up NEXT weekend.... and in the meantime I'm sorting things and have another couple of bags of no-longer-wanted-books to take to the Used Book Buyer, and surprise! I DO have a hardback copy of CRYOBURN (but not DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY).  Oh, and I finally located the silver and turquoise bracelet I bought for $5.00 at a yard sale the summer after I graduated from college, and later found out was genuine (!!!) -- it wasn't really lost, just couldn't get to the chest of drawers to verify that's where it was until last night.  Rediscovered a LOT of our old S.C.A. paraphernalia, and SF artwork Husband and I had bought at conventions years ago (before Daughter was born, even!) Obviously, we'd moved all of this to the house from the mobile home over ten years ago, but things were boxed up, put away out of sight, and pretty much forgotten about.

Anyone out there interested in a couple of boxes of Blake's Seven fanzines? or a boxed collection of "Magic:the Gathering" cards?

*crickets chirp*

Yeah, that's what I thought..... oh, well!

.... since last year's were a bust, more or less.

It's supposed to actually get near freezing today -- practically a heat wave!

Christmas was good.... went to vist Mom, gave her knitted slippers and a bar of hand-made Goat's Milk Lilac soap; gifted Elder Sister with a winged trilobite pin, Eric Stuart-sama's newest CD (autographed, even), TARDIS and Dalek - shaped soaps and some anime; Younger Sister and her SO received soaps, gift cards and 'Game of Thrones' trinkets; Youngest sister-tachi's gifts were mailed to Texas, and by all accounts were well received. Husband gave me an Amazon gift card (Yay! Kindle books!), Daughter gave me a Cedar/Sage bath set, and the Noisy Beasts collaborated with a Human and gave me a Badger.

I cannot say enough good things about Maitri's Bath and Body -- Hand-crafted Goat's Milk soaps (unless otherwise noted); great and imaginative scents with fannish themes (Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Supernatural, to name a few), reasonably priced, and excellent, speedy and friendly service. Almost everybody on my Gift list received a Soap of some sort this year, and I am looking forward to the new scent/flavor she announced for later this month. Methinks I am addicted....

Have been enjoying 'The Librarians' and 'Agent Carter' on the idiot box. 'NCIS' has been a bit rough, emotionally speaking - NCIS:NO is okay, I enjoy seeing Scott Bakula, but that's about it. Alas, AC and NCIS:NO are on different networks, at the same time (had the same problem with 'Agents of SHIELD' last year) - *sigh* NETFLIX-marathoned the first season of SHIELD right after Thanksgiving (and have shamelessly indulged in spoilers since), so we're sort of up to date with that. Have seen 'Forever' a few times; strikes me as a cross between 'Elementary' and 'Forever Knight', not necessarily in a good way.
We don't really watch much television these days -- can you tell?

Also. We have a *LYS! Right here in our Village! Grand Opening was last week, and it is owned/operated by the lady who weaves the rugs/placemats etc. for our annual church bazaar (she and her parents -- both deceased, alas-- also operated a jewelry making supply shop called The Caprock located near my and Elder Sister's alma mater during the time we both attended). They have lovely yarns, some commercial brands, and also local handspun, plus knitting seminars TBA....I found the match to some yarn I was about to run out of, that I was unable to locate elsewhere (not even on eBay). Wheee!!!!!!

In my own defense, I HAVE written several paragraphs on Chapter Three of "Paths of Righteousness", but I'm not thrilled with the quality. Also a good page and a half on a prompt that ties in with my TORCHWOOD-YGO AU.... but seriously pathetic....

Last weekend being a bust on the writing front because Husband and I went to visit his Aunt in the Chicago suburbs (family stuff) and I experienced the joy of a LYS (Local Yarn Shop) called "The Fold", which was nearly orgasmic....so many beautiful colors! So soft! So hand-spun (and thus, pricey but worth it)! Husband says I whimpered... I wouldn't be surprised if I drooled a bit...

The local Writing Group is supposedly holding a Write-In this Saturday at member's house. If I attend, I will have to load LeLouche with all my fragments and folders that I MIGHT be inspired to work on. I DID figure out how to input on the daily word counter on the NaNo site, finally.

Like I said, PATHETIC. I'd rather be knitting with my lovely multi-colored skein of hand-spun mohair/wool yarn from THE FOLD.
